Reaching your limit

I wanted to make a piece where you could see a broken spirit. Victory would seem farther away the more you try to reach out to it, so I chose to draw a certain scene with Claud being in a dire situation. (my rwby oc) 

Here, Claud is worn out. Mentally unable to fight any longer as he gets shut down too many times. Close combat seems to be ineffective in this fight, even though that is all he can do. The only chance he has of winning right now is to use his semblance (fusing with/hiding within the mist), which he has yet to learn. Facing your weaknesses like this has only made him lose hope.
